The number of lawyers qualifying in Japan is set to triple by 2010 following
a government agreement to dramatically expand the provision of legal education.
The agreement, reached at the end of June, is the latest stage in a two-year modernisation programme spearheaded by the Japanese Ministry of Justice’s Judicial Reform Council.
