The Paris Bar Council has drawn up reforms to cap the time that French partners can be held at salaried level as part of a bid to force Paris firms to promote talented young lawyers.
The proposals are the result of a review by the influential council into the issue of non-equity partners in mid-June, with the recommendation that once a lawyer is promoted to be a salaried partner, he or she should be considered for equity status within two years.
