Barbara StephensonThis week’s ‘target’, Barbara Stephenson, London managing partner of Norton Rose’s corporate finance department, was asked to write a few spontaneous lines. This is what her handwriting revealed:

This is an interesting one… begins fast, slows down and then becomes more careful and, as a result, accurate …which is the exact opposite of what most people do. Hmmmm. For a start she seems to be wearing more than one hat and what makes the sample even more mystifying is the odd mixture of practicality and unconventionality. A self-monitor, she has a deep interest in process, system and analysis and yet regards them from a somewhat oblique standpoint. Her problem-solving capabilities come into their own when she is under pressure – just as well, I suspect. She also has both interest in and concern for culture, with emphasis on reason and excellence. I expect her to have poetic and literary interests/abilities. Her social abilities are particularly mature (this doesn’t just ‘happen’ but is achieved through usage). Her communication skills are exceptional – she talks TO people and never just ‘at’ them – with the result that when she informs others they will retain the information. A most adept teacher in fact. She is feeling a bit ‘itchy’… I don’t mean she has a flea infestation, but that she is considering some sort of change…
