The Hong Kong Law Society (HKLS) has joined the wave of protest against a planned anti-sedition law, claiming the controversial legislation would hand the authorities unrestricted powers to seize confidential client information from law firms.
The proposed law, Article 23, has already led to unprecedented mass demonstrations in Hong Kong over fears it will be used to curtail freedom of speech and stifle political debate.
