Leading Dutch firm Stibbe is poised to gain limited liability protection after deciding to become a Naamlose Vennoutschap (NV), or Dutch limited company.
Although the leading national firm is scheduled to put the proposed conversion to its partnership formally in September, Stibbe is expected to become a NV by 1 January 2004, capping the personal liability of partners in the event of a negligence claim.
