Giles MurphyHow well do you know your clients? A seemingly straightforward question, to which you can no doubt provide a straightforward answer. After all, if you do not know your clients’ affairs you cannot advise them appropriately.

As to whether your clients have ever been involved with a transaction that laundered money, well, of course they have not. Perhaps one or two clients can be ‘entrepreneurial’, but you discussed the issue of money laundering with them and they claimed their transactions were legitimate. While accepting that other reasonable people might have been suspicious, you know better.
