The Government has hinted at plans to set up an independent body to discipline judges and confirmed that ministers will retain a limited role in judicial appointments.
Speaking before the Parliamentary select committee on the Lord Chancellor’s Department on Monday (30 June), the newly appointed Lord Chancellor, Lord Falconer, said the Government would call for proposals on whether to set up a separate body to discipline judges.
