Hong Kong lawyers are to be granted highly-coveted practice rights for mainland China following a landmark agreement this month that hands local lawyers privileged access to the world’s leading growth market in legal services.
The agreement between China and the special administrative region of Hong Kong will be signed on 30 June and from 1 July will for the first time allow local lawyers to qualify and practise in mainland legal centres such as Shanghai and Beijing.
