HelsinkiEarlier this year, the European Commission sanctioned a report into the regulation of lawyers around Europe. The study, carried out by the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna, found that lawyers in Finland were the most lightly regulated in the European Union.

In Finland the provision of legal advice and legal representation of clients before courts is not restricted – anyone, in short, is allowed to offer legal services. There are no regulations or rules of conduct generally applicable to all practitioners of the legal profession.
