Top-notch associates are the backbone of any successful law firm. While Shearman & Sterling has always attracted its share of the best and brightest, a few years ago we decided that we could do even better.
So, in 1999, we developed our Associate Initiatives – a comprehensive, forward-looking programme developed to improve our retention of associates. The programme received a lot of press at the time, with one magazine calling it “a call to action for competitors”.
