The regional recruitment market has remained
relatively strong against the background of turbulence in the City and while there is still an element of firms waiting to see how the year develops, the indications are that they will defy negative economic forecasts and step up recruitment.

Many firms remain in a healthy financial position, even if profits per partner may be down in many cases and the demand for partners with followings and proven development skills remains strong as firms continue to hire in line with long-term strategic goals.
