Dechert takes over US rival's Palo Alto office

US firm Dechert has taken over the Palo Alto office of Minnesota-based Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly to launch a third West Coast office for the rapidly expanding Philadelphia-based firm.

The 40-lawyer TMT and IP practice was put up for sale earlier in the year as part of cutbacks following the downturn in technology work in the California area and spiralling property costs.
