Reuters’ Garard replaces C&W head
Cable & Wireless global legal head Dan Fitz is leaving the company to be replaced by Reuters deputy general counsel Andrew Garard. The announcement, made earlier this month, will see Garard start at the telecoms giant on 2 July. It is not yet known what Fitz’s next career move will be.

Memery Crystal in ‘Easy’ win
Memery Crystal has acted on a conditional fee arrangement for internet print and frame business Easyart on its successful litigation against easyGroup, over the use of the ‘easy’ brand. Litigation partner Harvey Rands, who led the team on the case, said: “The action was misconceived. EasyGroup cannot stop companies which are trading in good faith from using the word ‘easy’ to describe their goods, services or business.” Denton Wilde Sapte acted for easyGroup.
