Assistant solicitors looking for a break from their City firms, but wary of the stagnant recruitment market in London and the regions, may be pleased to know there is another option out there. Our survey of recruitment in four major, common law, offshore jurisdictions has revealed that there is a market for City lawyers – and at rates that, when tax is taken into consideration, are not far off the top City salaries.
The survey found that the major law firms practising offshore financial services work in Jersey, the Isle of Man and Bermuda described their markets as “holding up”, while Guernsey was said to be “thriving”.
