For the initiated, it probably does not qualify as news, but indications from Brussels are that the European takeover directive is not to be.
For those not following the common code’s torturous progress – a forgivable lapse given its troubled 14 years in the pipeline – a coalition of Germany, Sweden, Finland and Denmark have stepped up their campaign to strip the code of its meaningful provisions.
