After much speculation, Barclays has announced this month that it has appointed Clifford Chance (CC) finance partner Mark Harding as its new general counsel.
Harding takes on one of the UK’s most high profile in-house roles, overseeing a external annual legal spend of about £100m and a global legal function numbering some 250 lawyers.
