Law SocietyThe Lord Chancellor’s Department (LCD) is to launch a root-and-branch review of the regulation of the legal profession – as the Law Society today (22 May) faces fresh controversy over the running of its disciplinary arm.

The LCD is currently finalising an announcement on the full terms of the review, although Legal Week understands the process will expressly address the regulation of legal services in the wake of the Office of Fair Trading’s 2001 report into the professions.
