Barclays has appointed Clifford Chance (CC) finance partner Mark Harding as its new general counsel.
Harding takes on one of the UK’s most high profile in-house roles, overseeing a global legal spend of around £100m, following the decision of Howard Trust to resign last August. Trust became head of legal at investment bank Schroders this month.
