Simmons & Simmons has named corporate partner Jane Newman as its new German head – making her the first female managing partner of a
major practice in Germany. At the end of April Newman replaced out-going German managing partner Mark Norris who had filled the role for 15 months. Norris has returned to London as a banking partner and will continue to support the UK firm’s Duesseldorf and Frankfurt branches.
Newman joined the German practice last summer to support the corporate team. Simmons now has 30 fee earners in its German practice.
