Nixon Peabody set for second US merger

Top 100 US firm Nixon Peabody is in merger discussions with Connecticut practice Cummings & Lockwood – just three months after securing the takeover of Boston rival Hutchins Wheeler & Dittmar.

The 600-lawyer firm is understood to have launched the discussions with Cummings after closing its merger with Hutchins Wheeler in February, which brought 49 lawyers to the Nixon Peabody stable.
