The Lord Chancellor, Lord Irvine is to launch a review into his controversial powers of judicial appointment, the future of the QC system and court dress – despite repeated public opposition for reform.
The Lord Chancellor announced the move on Wednesday (2 April) appearing before the newly-formed Lord Chancellor’s Department Parliamentary select committee after coming under sustained pressure from committee-member MPs.
