A group of top investment banks are in discussions with magic circle law firms to encourage firms to consolidate their extranets into a single, standard offering for the financial sector.
And a number of large law firms have begun their own round of discussions on the possibility of an industry standard extranet – Clifford Chance, Allen & Overy (A&O), Simmons & Simmons, Ashurst Morris Crisp, Norton Rose and Eversheds are all understood to have participated.
