Lawyers have recently amazed The Diary by complaining that the Enron bankruptcy examiner, Neal Batson, failed to include anything new or interesting in his 2,000-page report into the collapse of the unscrupulous energy giant.

Rumours are circulating the market that the report cost $20m to produce, all of which would go to Batson’s law firm Alston & Bird – a factor that The Diary is sure played no part in raising rival lawyers’ hackles.
