Carnelutti has lost of one of its top partners, who has quit the leading Italian firm to launch her own practice.

Milan-based Nicoletta Portalupi, one of 37-partner Carnelutti’s most senior lawyers and regarded as one of Italy’s leading real estate specialists, left last month to set up her own firm. She spent four years as a partner at Gianni Origoni Grippo & Partners – the formal Italian ally of London’s Linklaters – before joining Carnelutti in 1998.
