You know, I first spotted that the IT department wasn’t working quite as well as it should during the last major network failure. The IT operations team spotted the large red light flashing on the network management system and reacted accordingly. The IT helpdesk spotted the internet connection problems and took appropriate action. The IT projects team immediately invoked their project contingency plans and the IT training team cancelled all training and started walking the floors to support users.

Sounds good? Well, not quite. Everything was about as harmonious as the ‘Tone Deaf and Stupid’ Society’s annual orchestral concert. Thankfully such concerts no longer exist; the entire membership has instead diverted its attention to ‘Pop Idol’.
