Vanni TrevesIn a signal that the tide could be turning against the litigation culture in the US, the American Bar Association (ABA) has backed government moves this month to stem class action suits and limit asbestos litigation claims which are threatening to cripple corporate America.

After a heated debate at its mid-year meeting in Seattle, the aba supported legislation which will force class action litigation out of the state courts into the tougher federal courts in an attempt to bring a halt to frivolous or groundless mass claims.
