US firm Dewey Ballantine has become the latest high profile practice to scale down its Asian practice with the firm announcing on 21 January that it is to close its Hong Kong office.

The office will close on 31 March, when the lease for the Hong Kong branch comes to an end.
Deweys’ seven-lawyer office opened in 1994 and was headed by US-qualified partner John Otoshi, with one other partner, David Zhang, and five associates.
