Clifford Chance (CC) has withdrawn sections of an embarrassing training video for US associates featuring litigation head Jim Benedict outlining the global giant’s billing philosophy.
The video, described by lawyers who have seen it as a “eulogy to billing”, is reported to include an assertion from Benedict that associates not recording nine to 10 billable hours a day through accurate time recording are defrauding the firm and themselves.
