The European Commission’s (EC’s) Council of Ministers has unanimously passed the controversial European legal aid directive, despite opposition from MEPs angry at the watered down version of the legislation.
The directive was last Monday (27 January) pushed through by the Council of Ministers’ general affairs committee, which represents the governments of the European Union (EU) member states.
