Accountancy-tied law firms are bracing themselves for renewed regulatory pressure in anticipation of the announcement on Wednesday (29 January) of the findings of the Government’s review of auditor independence.
As Legal Week went to press, trade and industry secretary Patricia Hewitt was expected to tell Parliament that the newly-appointed regulator, the Financial Reporting Council (FRC), would be launching an investigation into non-audit services provided by the big four accountants.
