The Irish Government has been censured by the European Court of Justice (ECJ) for failing to implement the Rights of Establishment Directive, which allows EU-based lawyers to practise across the EU.
The judgment, handed down in December last year by Europe’s highest court, is an embarrassing blow to the Irish Government and follows a similar ECJ ruling against France earlier last year.
