The American Bar Association (ABA) has locked horns with the US’ trade regulator over plans to tighten up restrictions on non-lawyers offering legal advice.
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has written to the ABA, the US’ umbrella Bar organisation, warning it not to go ahead with plans to ban non-lawyers offering general advice on legal rights and drafting legally-binding documents.
