Two London-based law firms – Nicholson Graham & Jones and Lewis Silkin – have adopted the DespatchBox DDX system for e-mail encryption, to comply with Law Society guidelines on the use of e-mail.

DDX is a simple system that adds a layer of security to a law firm’s existing e-mail application without the need to distribute and maintain public and private keys. However, there is mixed opinion about whether it offers the same level of security as a dedicated public key infrastructure (PKI).
