Steven Newborn, the Washington-based global co-head of antitrust at Clifford Chance (CC), has confirmed he is to stay with the firm in the wake of Kevin Arquit’s decision to quit for Wall Street firm Simpson Thacher & Bartlett.
Newborn and New York-based Arquit both joined CC when the London-based giant took over their former firm Rogers & Wells in 2000, and had shared the chair of the firm’s global antitrust practice for two years. Newborn is now expected to take over as sole head of the group.
