British Airways (BA): Niamh McCarthy from Littman Chambers has joined the airline as a competition specialist. The former barrister previously worked in Paris and Brussels. She joins the legal team headed by newly appointed BA head of legal Maria DaCunha.

CDC Capital Partners: The Government-backed venture capital fund has appointed a new worldwide head of legal and hired a senior private practice lawyer. Paul Owers started in the role last month in an internal promotion following the departure in August of general counsel Joe Whitfield. Owers will be responsible for the organisation’s investments across 20 jurisdictions in Latin America, Africa, South Asia and the Asia Pacific.
