Texas-based energy specialist Vinson & Elkins has launched a practice shake-up in the wake of last year’s collapse of scandal-ridden client Enron – with the expectation that the top 25 US firm will axe nearly 30 lawyers’ jobs.

The process, which was overseen by managing partner Joseph Dilg, has resulted in 29 lawyers being asked to review their position within the firm, including up to 10 partners.
