Osborne Clarke (OC) corporate partner Patrick Graves led the team advising tobacco processing company Brunel on the proposed demerger of the company’s main trading business to form the new company Dickinson Legg Group (DLG). DLG’s shares are to be admitted to trading on AIM when the company is expected to be valued at more than £20m. OC also advised on merging the remainder of the Brunel Group with fund management company Guinness Peat Group (GPG). Herbert Smith corporate partner Anthony Macaulay advised GPG.

Theodore Goddard partner Derek Lewis and associate Geraint Harries advised Swedish paper manufacturer Klippan on its acquisition of the Caldwell business of Scottish paper producer Inveresk, for an undisclosed sum. Inveresk was advised by Herbert Smith corporate partner James Palmer.
