There is more to pre-training contract legal
education than just completing a law degree or postgraduate law conversion course. Before rising to the lofty heights of trainee solicitor status, would-be lawyers must first get through a final year of study.

The legal practice course (LPC) year is wedged between the qualifying law degree and the two-year training contract, which leads to qualification. Non-law graduates take the course after completing the common professional examination (CPE), which takes a year.
