Clinical negligence lawyers are facing a cash crisis thanks to bureaucratic delays in paying legal costs by the National Health Service Litigation Authority (NHSLA), claimant lawyers have told Legal Week.
A growing number of lawyers are complaining that the move this April to transfer small value claims from local health trusts to the NHSLA has created a logjam in paying out legal costs, leading to mounting financial pressure on claimant firms.
