The Law SocietyThe Law Society last week approved a £21m cash injection to raise confidence in its much-criticised regulatory arm – leading to further sharp rises in the solicitors’ practising certificate.

Chancery Lane’s council approved the plan last Thursday (10 October), which will raise funding for the Office for the Supervision of Solicitors (OSS) by £7.1m in 2003, £8.5m in 2004 and £5.4m in subsequent years.
