US firms Weil Gotshal & Manges and O’Melveny & Myers are both celebrating niche mergers with high-profile roles on the $620m disposal of Vivendi-owned United States Filter Corporation’s (US Filter) Waterworks Distribution Group subsidiary.
The cash purchase sees the division sold to JP Morgan Chase’s private equity arm, JP Morgan Partners, and Boston-based buy-out house Thomas H Lee Partners, respectively advised by O’Melvenys and Weil Gotshal.
