An American partner, who claims his reputation was damaged by his former firm Pillsbury Winthrop in a press release, has filed a $45m suit against the firm.
Frode Jensen filed a defamation suit against New York-based Pillsburys on 8 October in the Connecticut Superior Court claiming the firm acted “in a disgraceful and repugnant campaign to disseminate false and defamatory information”.
The row followed an announcement by rival US firm Latham & Watkins on 3 September that Jensen was to join the Los Angeles-based firm’s New York arm.
