Simmons & Simmons’ management is caught in the middle of a dispute between rival departments following a failed attempt to dump the firm’s lockstep pay for partners in favour of a merit-based pay system.
Legal Week has learned that the firm’s partnership last month blocked proposals to introduce a merit system for paying partners – despite support from management and Simmons’ City transactional and insolvency departments.
