Ashurst Morris Crisp has appointed a new managing partner for Germany as the Frankfurt-based Nick Angel returns to the UK to lead the top 10 London firm’s reconstruction and insolvency practice.
German-qualified Wulf Merkel, a partner in Ashursts’ Frankfurt office since 1999, succeeds Angel in the post, which he has held for two years.
Angel steered Ashursts through a heavy period of investment in its continental European practice. Following the 1997 launch of its Germany practice, Ashursts set up a Munich office in May 2001 and a local law litigation practice under partner Karl Wach.
