New York’s Weil Gotshal & Manges has taken on a team of 17 private equity lawyers from Boston firm Hutchins Wheeler & Dittmar to launch a Massachusetts office.
The seven-partner team, which represents the bulk of the 110-lawyer firm’s private equity practice, launched the new office on 1 September.
The office will be headed by Hutchins Wheeler partner James Westra. “We have known Weil Gotshal for a number of years and we are impressed by the firm’s attitude,” Westra told Legal Week.
