Shearman & Sterling has shaken up the running of its top-tier M&A practice with the appointment of German partner Hans-Rolf Koerfer to the newly-created position of European head of M&A.
The firm’s previous global head of M&A, the US-based Peter Lyons, will now oversee Shearmans’ M&A practice in Asia and its domestic US operation.
