Barclays: Group general counsel and secretary Howard Trust has announced that he will leave the bank next year. Trust has been with Barclays since 1989 and was appointed as the first general counsel in 1995. The bank will now split his role, with Lawrence Dickinson, currently global chief operating officer for Barclays Bank, taking over as group secretary. The bank is currently seeking a replacement for the group general counsel role.

Scottish & Newcastle: Group legal director Andrew Vellani is leaving the brewery giant to join Swiss-based Cofra Holdings. Vellani will be in charge of worldwide legal services for the retail group. Scottish & Newcastle does not plan to fill Vellani’s role as group legal director. In-house lawyer Steven Weatherley will become UK head of legal.
