US tech giant Brobeck Phleger & Harrison has asked half of its new intake of associates to defer for more than a year in response to the ongoing slump in California’s technology economy.
The San Francisco-based Brobecks has offered around 30 lawyers due to start this autumn a package to defer their start date until January 2004. The group is half Brobecks’ annual in-take of junior associates.
