Legal publishing house Sweet & Maxwell last Thursday bought the Lawtel online legal information service in a bid to expand its e-commerce business.
Wendy Beecham, managing director at Sweet & Maxwell, said she made a direct approach to Lawtel’s owner, magazine publisher Centaur Communications, and last week sealed the deal for an undisclosed sum, after several months of negotiations.
