The Law SocietyThe Law Society is considering radical plans to scrap the training contract as part of a package of reforms designed to shake up solicitors’ training.
The proposals come as part of Chancery Lane’s inquiry into legal education reform, which was started last year.

Although no final decisions have been taken, Legal Week has been told that a favoured option is to scrap the current system of training contracts, which require trainees to complete a two-year period with a law firm before becoming qualified solicitors.
